So, my sister lost control of her car today and she crashed onto the right shoulder and the front bumper is destroyed. I am wondering which place fixes them and also can we bring our own bumper or do they get the bumper by themselves and add the price of it to the cost of fixing it?

    I was wondering about Maaco.

Btw, it is a 08 Civic.

Find a real body shop, not Maaco. Installing parts they (the body shop) don't purchase is hit and miss. Some will do it, some won't.

Maaco? Rule number 1 of body work, stay away from Maaco unless you want your paint to look like hell and begin peeling in a very short amount of time.

Probably best bet is to find a hot rod shop or someplace that specializes in custom work. It'll cost more than a regular body shop, but that will be the best bet you'll have to have someone willing to do the job and make it right the first time.

Well, the car was taken to Maaco and turns out the guys found out another piece that needs to be replaced and they want to increase the original price they stated. Is this a clear a sign to take the car out of their shitty hands or what?

Why are you being cheap? The car is nearly new. Don't do like my brother did with his truck. Got hailed on when it was 3 months old. He cheaped out on the body shop and it turned into an 18 month nightmare that ended when he sued the body shop for the damage.

What state are you in? The collision shop i work for has 60 stores nation wide, anyway, if you have a body kit, they will track down the kit and put it on paint and all, if you already have the piece/pieces needed, they will paint them and put them on, or if its painted they will put them on for you all you do is pay for time

It's alright, she is doing it on Maaco.

Around 400 for a damage absorber piece.

Bumper reinforcements are usually a single use part and are not repairable. So if it is in fact damaged, even slightly, the shop has to replace it or be held liable in the future.

You're getting jammed. We just recently replaced the absorber on an '08 Camry. The part was $115 (shop cost) and the install took 10 minutes--4 bolts.

The paint--being that it's the front bumper--is going to get severe rock chips quickly and need a repaint within 3 years.

Maaco marketing snags another one. :bigthumb:

It is my sister's car not mine. I would've research it a lot of more.
