i have a HP a720n PC at work that im looking to upgrade memory. (i know its a 'old' computer but they dont want to upgrade to a new one just yet) they want me to max this one out first [IMG].

so i went to the HP site and it says that the Maximum allowed RAM is 1 GB (2 x 512MB)

but then i click on the motherboard specifications in that same page and it says: Support up to maximum 2 GB memory (PC manufacturer's maximum memory may differ)

My question is: If i buy 2GB and hook em up what do you think is going to happen? i mean, the motherboard supports it right? unless the pc manufacturer specifies not to go past 1GB. So is this a setting i can change in the BIOS in startup? or should i not exceed the 1GB what do you guys think. [IMG]

    i want 2GB dammit! [IMG]

2gb will probably work, but 1gb would be fine too
