Question about Protein Whey Shakes

    how do u make them?

    i think im doing it wrong. i recently bought ON Banana Creme and it says to "mix with your favorite drink". :ugh:

    i dont have a blender or shaker.

    what is there to mix then? milk?

    milk son, all day son

    or water/gatorade/liquidy stuff, depends on flavor and what you like. Fill glass, dump powder, stir with spoon, drink.

    Water and ON is good to me. I usually have 3 different shakes

    1. Chocolate Mint ON, water, Barleans Flax Seed Oil
    2. Chocolate Mint ON, water, Dextrose (for PWO)
    3. Chocolate Mint ON, water, snack on some almonds on the side.

    water or milk is fine though... mix with a fork, circling in both directions. if you really want to avoid nasty clumps, then drink it through a straw.


    IMO purchasing a blender bottle was the best choice I've made in a while concerning my dietary habits. I make healthy shakes in the morning instead of eating eggs + bacon + bagel... I get the same cals with more protein, more healthy fats, and less carbs.... not to mention it's way cheaper considering I'd buy all that shit at a cafe in the morning... now I just make up a shake in a minute and it's cheaper and healthier.

    i hate having horrible gas and wanting to shit my pants before my workout so i usually keep the milk afterwards :o

    if you don't have a blender, i'd recommend a blender that u could drink out of and that's easy to clean.. not those huge ones

    my recipe:
    on extreme milk chocolate 1 scoop, 4 ice cubes.. blend

    1 scoop ON double chocolate
    4 ice cubs
    handful of mixed frozen fruit (pineapple, strawberry, papaya, mango)
    tablespoon peanut butter
    blender

    Mine is very similar except I always throw a banana in it along with some oats if I can find some :yum:

    I love my $30 electronic blender..I use that shit almost every day. :love:

    usually I try to get it at 50g protein per shake. If I'm going on the road and i'm taking the power with me, I gotta mix it with water so I put 2 scoops in my blender bottle. if I'm at home and I want a 50g shake, I put 1.25 scoops in and then 2 cups of milk, which brings it to somewhere in the 50g ballpark.

    water and whey's kinda nasty, though it is tolerable. i only do it when i absolutely have to, like when i run out of milk. milk is the way to go for me.

    wtf? i thought the milk counteracts the purpose of the PWO shake since it has casein, the slow absorbing protein. i mix my whey with maltodextrin, dextrose, and a dash of salt in about 8oz. of water.

    Whey isn't just for PWO. It also seems that high GI carbs may not be as useful PWO as once thought. I think aragon changed his stance on it. Thats where I first got the whey/dextrose PWO from.

    Why the salt???
