so i went into the shop to get my lip out (piercing was getting a little irritated and just wanted to make sure everything was fine, which it was) when i asked him about "the point of no return" in terms of lobe stretching. i'm at a 0G, looking to go to a 00G soon hopefully. i asked if they would ever fully close up. he mentioned that a kid he knew who was at 2" got plastic surgery done on them and now it doesn't even look like anything has touched his ears. 300 bucks a lobe.

question is, is this legit and is it worth it? i've always wanted at least 7/16th but didn't want the repercussions :hs:

How can anyone answer if its worth it? And I'm sure if they can give flat chested girls big boobs, they can do the simple job of closing the hole in your ear.

FWIW... A woman I worked with had an earring ripped out when she was in highschool, she's had multiple surgeries on her lobe to try to repair it and it's never taken....

And that's not even with US doctor (not saying it's bad work), but remember you get what you pay for.

your ear will never be the same. most of the sew ups on BME are done by piercers not professionals neccesarily at those type procedures. I'd say a plastic surgeon would give a much better end result.

Personally, I never underswtood why someone would want to stretch their ears that big but hey, that's just me. Maybe I am showing my age.

so like... some people can stretch to 1/2" and their lobes will shrink back down to 'normal' sizes. Some can stretch to 0g and their ears won't shrink back down at all. A lot of it depends on how fast you stretch, how much scar tissue you cause and how long you've had them in for.

this is true. with that said, plastic sugery on 1/2" lobes would look MUCH more natural than if a piercer tried to repair it amirite

it was done on the show MADE and I know the kid. he had 3/4's and his ears look like he fell on his ear or something. Just little scars where the cut his lobes.

All depends on the piercers experience with repairing stretched lobes. Brian Decker out of Pure Body Arts in NY is amazing at it. I'd trust him over a plastic surgeon anyday but thats just me. :dunno:

I've seen people get their lobes fixed. I would say it's worth it.

actually, it is possible to get plastic surgery to fix ears that have been overstretched. A wonderful episode of Dr.90210 with Dr. Rey showed how reconstruction of the ear is not impossible. How well it turns out however depends on who you go to and how much money you are willing to spend.
