Last week I made a new partition so I could try Leopard on it. Now I want to uninstall that and just install XP on it with boot camp. I tried with boot camp but it wouldn't let me. I went to disk utility and erased the leopard drive but boot camp still won't let me install anything on it. What do I have to do to install XP on it?

Chances are you formated it as a Journeled partition...which windows can't read
format it as MS-DOS (Fat) and you should be okay

How do I format it to MS-DOS?

I tried Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) and Mac OS X Extended. Those were the only choices it gave me when I erase the partition.

When I open boot camp it says:

The start up disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp assistance for installing Windows.

    merge the partitions together
and do the paritioning with bootcamp instead...
    it'll do everything for you...

how'd you split it in the first place?
i think ipartition can merge them back without needing to lose your data...

    ill try that

I split them with boot camp, then boot the leopard cd and used that to format the partition for leopard and then installed it
