Ok, I have an XP 2500+ (Barton) and have been messing around overclocking it.

My question is, what is the point of adjusting vcore?

Ive overclocked it to 167x12=2.004 Ghz (Runs just fine). Not exactly sure if change the multiplier vs clock rate is better...

Why do people bump up the vcore? I'm currently at 1.68 but see a lot of people running in the ~1.75 range.

What does this get you? I've kept an eye on the temperature, and its warm (60c), but its a barton.

Since you have a Barton 2500. I would suggest setting the multiplier at stock and upping your FSB to 200 and run it that way. The Bartons can do it no problem. The only thing holding you back would be your RAM, if it's not capable of doing 400mhz (200DDR).
