why does it do this. i deleted a wireless connection because i had to reload the wireless card drivers.
restarted. computer booted up, detected the internal card. everything went well and then the it named the wireless connection 2. if i did it again then it would go to 3 and keep going. why does it do this if the previous was deleted? itsnotlike i have 3 wireless connections going. i did an uninstall then reinstalled it.

Because unless you reformat or hack through the registry, there's a "memory" of the old device with the same name. I think my scanner is up to #6 because every time I move, I wind up plugging it into a different USB port so the driver thinks is a new scanner.
