Been working out for about a year yet and i am making solid strength gains all around but my muscle doesn't feel as hard as it should - i read around and i hear things that this means there may more fat present in the muscle?

is this something that a certain program would fix, or is this just something that improves in time?

    thanks.

ps im sure this question has been posted before but i tried searching to no avail.

I can't remember what it's called but I think it was related to heavy lifting. I think it's called myogenic tone.

not sure how accurate this statement really is but ive read on t-nation that heavy lifts and lower reps are better for "muscle hardness"

Density/muscle hardness (assuming that you already have a low bf%) comes mainly with time...so the longer you lift the more "refined" your muscles become. This is also why it gets harder to put on much size after a while, your muscles simply become more efficient and thus have less need to grow to handle a certain amount of stress.
