question about mobile pentium m cpu

    why do the most of them go up to 1.7mhz and not more?,

    They go upto 2.0GHz. It's also known as the 755.

    because the pentium m is NOT a pentium 4. Same reason the AMD's still run slower clocks. It's not just the clock speed, but the way you perform the instruction, and the amount of work done per cycle (and instructions per cycle).
