z-640's are notorious for buzzing sounds coming out of the sub even after the system is off. Nevertheless Logitech still makes some of the best hardware out there.

I have the 5500s and I know the hum. You have to go right beside the sub to hear it and it's only sometimes.

i have the z-560's and have only noticed the static noise when i set to a high volume level. :dunno: but i kind of expected that.

I am not saying that all 680's do this, but the only complaint i've heard about these 680's is the humm/buzz from the sub after the system is shut off. I'd still recommend Logitech hardware.

I have Z680's and wouldn't recommend then but not for the 'hum' the sub is crap. @ high volumes it is way too damn boomy.
