How many OVA’s are there and where are they respective to a time line. I’ve seen only the 4 episode OVA’s entitled “Romantic tales from the meji era” or something like that. But I have heard that there are more OVA’s.

By the way, I highly recommend watching those four episodes, they animation and story depth are much better then the anime series, which is still good.

4 episode OVA... sold in america as Samurai X - Trust & Betrayal (most likely what you're talking about). this is when kenshin is the battousai, before the tv series.

2 episode OVA... sold in america as Samurai X - Reflection. this has some recaps of some events from the tv series, but in much better animation. it continues to the time after the tv series and picks up with enishi's jinchu.. which was unfortunately underdone compared to the manga.. and beyond to include kenshin's son, kenji.
    and ultimately kenshin's death

then there's the stupid ass movie, not worth it at all.

i  the movie. was pretty cool for something that didn't follow the story at all :o

if anything i'd recomend the manga more than anything. kenshin manga > anime

:o i liked the movie as well :o

IMO they could have made the reflection ova much better if they had cut out all the recap BS and just focused more on what kenshin did during his final 15-20 years.

argh, i guess i'm alone on the movie then :o. i really wanted it to have the improved animation style of the OVA's instead of the cartoony style of the show :dunno:. but yea... manga > *

there should've been no OAV at all and they should've animated the rest of the damn manga.
