Do you still need to plug the analog audio cable from the drive to the motherboard or is that only with pre Windows XP OS's? I thought that the audio ran through the IDE channel with Windows XP now, thanks.

Ok, I wasn't sure whether or not it mattered that I'm using onboard sound instead of seperate card.

Doesn't the volume change from the "CD" source to the WAV slider though?

I rarely play audio CDs in my computer anyways, so it is typically left off here. Otherwise, do you have the audio cable? Why not plug it in if it is available?
