i talked to a gym guy today and he told me that the best wya to lose weight and to be lean /cut is by working out. What i question is he told me that

    70% is what you eat
    25% is weight lifting
    5% is cardio

he told me that Weight lifting burns more calories than running. .Is this true? he said running burns calories but it stops burning after you cool down after 10 min. Weightlifting burns calories but it continues to burn for about a day or 2 while your body repairs itself.

so my question is .. Is that true? or is he just bullshitting me to join a fitness program

also the fact that you are building more muscle lifting weights, and more muscle require more calories to maintain

    1 pound of muscle = 50 cals a day

    oh snap I feel smart

50cals per lb of muscle would make no sense if youre supposed to consume:
total calories = ~11 x bodyweight in LBS
    to maintain your weight.

i love how articles assure the reader he won't "get big like a bodybuilder" because that is just everyone's greatest fear isn't it

90% of fitness/diet articles are fucking retarded

maintenance calories are about 15-18 to maintain weight...losing weight is 10-12

seems like fitness/diet anything is all opininated
and we all know opinion's are like assholes, everyone has one

I said 50 per day because that's what I read from a book ( which one would think holds more presendance then jonno, but what do I know, and I figured that is right)
now Jonno says 6 per day because that's what he read, probally some study somewhere, which may be acutally done right, or may have been done by a kid like myself, bored and posted on their website, who knows
Joe smith says 15 a day because that's what his mom's sister told him, and she is 'cut'

    get my drift?

It's closer to 3-4 calories per lb of muscle. Chris posted an actual study done by scientists that proved it.

If muscle burned 50 calories per lb a day I'd have to eat around 12,000 calories a day just to maintain.

yea except what jonno posted was a fact not an opinion.

the studies for that book must have been outdated
