I just recently started doing Farmer's Walk. Done them twice now. The first time I used 100lb DB's and walked for 50 feet(25 feet, turn around, 25 feet). Now today I used 110's and still walked for 50 ft. Should I be walking a longer distance? Also, what happens when I hit 125's? My gym doesn't have any larger DB's. Do I start using barbells? :noes:

You can work on distance if you want. Farmers walks are an amazing full body workout.

Thought if you were doing them for grip I would pick a distance. 50 feet is good. Then keep increasing the weight.

If you ever get to the 125s then you can just keep going farther. Or add in some 1 arm deadlifts from about knee hight, using a squat bar in the squat/power rack.

thank you. honestly i think i will hit 125's rather quickly. since I just started my weight is a little lower than what i can actually do just because i'm getting used to it. next week i will try the 115's and see what i can do.

people look at me like im some kind of moron walking across the gym with db's in my hand but i love the feeling the next day when i can't hold a glass in my hand. :coold:

Does anyone know where this originated from? Do farmers have to walk around with hay bales in each hand or some sorta farm equipment?
