how do you keep from swinging? 4th or 5th rep into it my body keeps swinging and it becomes hard to keep a balance and do the movement at the same time

try leaning forward more and staying that way through the whole movement, not going to a full lockout, and stabilizing yourself with your shoulders. it worked for me.

you can also use the assisted machine for dips. helps build proper form and stabilizes you during the movement.

I don't know if I could swing while doing dips if I wanted to

Make sure you lean forward and pace yourself properly.

keep your core tight and flex your lats... I don't see how you could swing on dips unless you're trying to use momentum to push yourself up.

Slow down and angle yourself more. Also curl your knees back.

I used to swing, but then I leaned forward more and the swinging stopped

How do you guys swing on your dips and pullups?

Slow down and learn some decent form. The only thing that should require effort to prevent swinging is hanging leg raises.

You gotta use the downswing momentum of the legs in conjunction with the stabilization of the lower back to offset the swing.... Took me a while to get it down. I still get a swing going every now and again though... annoys the hell out of me.

Or just do rails of coke off the 50lb DB's.
