Question about decline

    lately i've been focusing on decline (starting that first in the series). However I need to make sure i'm getting the most effective workout and ROM in my chest.

    Where do you guys touch the bar on your chest? The very lower part of the pec? (thats where I'm bring the bar to as of now)

    I've seen some guys touch the bar around the top of the rib cage.

    Whats the deal?

    haven't done these in about a year, but i go lower chest or upper stomach

    decline is more of a tricep exercise
    I touch it wherever it touches, i have not done decline BB press ever, i think...

    a friend of mine told me to only do decline first and then incline, he says decline works the chest better and it will bring up your bench numbers

    he benched 525 for 1 last time we worked out together :dunno: he seems to know his stuff
