question about cucumbers and pickles

    so both are the same veggie. but pickles are drenched in vinegar/salt? do both give the same nutrition? what does one have over the other? and vice versa

    I thought they were just cucumbers preserved in vinegar

    Pickling vegetables not only improves their flavor, it can also make them more nutritious and easier to digest. During fermentation, bacteria produce vitamins as they digest vegetable matter. Also, if the salting causes a vegetable to lose water, the fat-soluble vitamins will become more concentrated
