I got a little question about copying art. I am gonna start painting and love the style of michael godard. www.michaelgodard.com my question is is it legal to copy a style. All of my ideas would be origional and different but i would like to use the glassware and the black background. Probably use some fruit like a lime under a margarita. Is this legal if i were to sell them? Like i said its copying a style in no way would i make a direct copy of his work.

its fine, otherwise no one could ever take a picture as someone would have beat you to it. Now with that, you don't want to try and advance a career as copying others ideas, you want to have your own style and uniqueness.
