I dont recall a way of outputting the sound differently from the video using another cable but I may be wrong.

You could connect it using the VGA cable. That has audio cables. Depends how far away your speakers are though

With PS3 i use HDMI for video, and analog for sound. I would be surprised if 360 didnt support that.

Sorry I didnt read the specification of the monitor. When my 360 actually worked I used VGA over the HDMI and didnt notice much of a difference.

of course you'll notice a difference between analog and 1080p... buy an hdmi cable off ebay or craigslist or something. they're way overpriced in stores

You can use both an HDMI cable and the standard A/V XBox connector at the same time. You'll just have to remove the gray casing around the A/V cable. It's what I do to connect my projector through HDMI and then connect Optical audio through my receiver.

oh i've got plenty of hdmi cables. bought a whole bunch cheap. thing is i don't know if my 360 will be retarded and only transmit the audio signal through the hdmi cable, and not the AV cables as well

people claim VGA on 360 looks "better" than hdmi although i personally didn't notice a difference when i compared both on my plasma.

with that gateway you picked, wouldn't you hook up your computer via DVI and your 360 via VGA and toggle between them as needed?

Why does it matter? You don't see it while you're playing on your monitor. :squint:

most HD monitors have an audio out port on them to pass the audio from your hdmi cable...
