I dont know if color calibration is the correct term, but i noticed in photoshop the colors are off. Im working on a project for the local university and in their graphics manual they specify their red and green, so when I input the numbers it goes from RED to a raspberry-red color, but in the manual its clearly red. Then when I took the sample to the printer when he pulled it up on his computer it looked very orange. So how do I fix this?

In Photoshop, under the Photoshop pull down menu go to color settings. You will find all your colorspace settings. Ask the lab what setting they are using and make sure your settings match. That's the extent of my knowledge about PS colorspace and I may be wrong.

It sounds to me however like your monitor is not calibrated. Working with a properly calibrated monitor is the first step you need to take. You should buy/borrow/steal a monitor calibration device.
