i was reading another thread and out of curiousity, i wanted to ask you F&N folks...

do you limit these exercises once a week? and do you switch off every week by going heavy and then the following next week, you go light?

    example:
sept 25th, sunday - light squats, bench or deadlifts
oct 2nd, sunday (1 week) - heavy squats, bench or deadlifts
    next week - light
    etc

out of these 3 exercises, which shouldn't be done more than once a week? or which of the 3 would be ok to perform more than once a week?

Big core lifts = as heavy as you can go WHILE using good form.

ohh - if youre just starting out, try one of the posted routines in the archives or look at the routine christophers posted. The more you progress into lifting, the more rest youll need. I train each body part once a week, i do abs 3x a week cause ive been lazy with them. They are a stabilizer in a lot of lifts so you can get away with it to some extent.

I "maxout" every week, twice a week
you need to get plenty of reppetition work in as well as heavy work in as a noob.

    :werd:

You need to have a fair amount of volume and intensity

The best bet is to normally push your self with heavy movements like that 2-3 times a week but allways listen to your body it will tell you when you need to cut back a bit.

I don't follow a "weekly" plan, that's why I may do my big lifts more than once a week. When I'm training hard I do something seven days a week. It depends on how I feel what I do.
