I picked up some powder BCAAs and I noticed that there are 0 calories and 11g of BCAAs in 1 server. My question: Do BCAAs count as part of your protein intake, as in, would I add an additional 11g of protein to my numbers after taking the BCAAs. Second, if so, how are there no calories in the protein if protein has 4 calories/gram? Thanks guys.

no, don't include them in your protein count because they aren't a protein, just a component of it.

I think Pur said before to count if you are competing ... so for most of us here no, just take them.

just because they don't count as calories on the label doesn't mean they don't have calories, they're still 4 calories per gram

That doesn't make any sense, if it has calories why would they list 0 calories on the label?

Dont worry about it. Adding a few extra grams of BCAA's never made anybody fat.
