    Question?

    For Arnolds Power Training.

    He said 3 sets of 10, 6, 4, failure.

    Is that 3 sets of 10, 3 sets of 6 & 3 sets of 4.

or is it 3 sets total, one of 10, one of 6 and one of 4.

Here is part of the workout for refrence.

    adjust volume accordingly.

arnold was a drugged genetic god who gained muscle faster than we gain fat.

i thinks its " 3 sets total, one of 10, one of 6 and one of 4 one to failure"

i would prolly do the starting strength routine or whats in the sticky. i doubt you need to be going to failure as a beginner. just my 2 cents

I am, I just feel I can do more than the 1 set of each. Maybe I'll bump it up to two sets of each on the power and see how I feel. if it's too much I'll back it down to 1 like previous.

Don't do 2 sets of each.

It's a pyramid type rep scheme. If you're going to do that routine then just do the 1 set of each rep set.

Yea don't do 2 sets of each. If you want more volume do 4 sets of 12-10-8-6.

    3 sets

    First set: 10 reps
    Second set: 6 reps
    Third set: 4 reps

I've been on Arnold's Level I routine and I do not recommend it. Unless you are really taking care of yourself recovery-wise, you will burn out in no time.

Arnold was not a strength expert. If you want to build strength find a routine from Starr/Pendlay/Rippetoe.

Abomb is going to get all pissy about this but we had a thread a month or two ago explaining why a routine from one of those guys is better for building strength then one from Arnold.
