Okay, so I set up some rules in Apple mail to sort my mail. I created folders to to store different types of emails in. For example, "Ebay, paypal, mom, boss" -etc.

The only problem is that it will not tell me when I have mail in any of these folders, only in my main inbox. When i mean tell me, it doesnt show up in the dock icon unless i have unread mail in my main inbox.

    Follow me?

How do i fix this? Thanks.

You could set up another rule like 'all incoming messages' = 'bounce icon in the dock'. That will at least let you know when you've received a new message.

I don't think there is a way to get the starburst number to identify the amount of messages from diff folders (although I've never tried).
