one of my friends from work was asking me about a kawasaki kl650. i really don't know much about bikes other than sport bikes, but he was looking to buy new and has the money for it (paramedic) and he often drives to places that are on dirt roads so i figured it wouldn't be a horrible idea for him to get on of the dirt/street bikes. any of you crew want to give me your input that would be great any good or bad reveiws just let me know bros

edt: also he knows how to ride just not extremely expirienced from what i gather hes also about 6'1" about 230lbs

I'm assuming you mean a KLR650. While it's a dual sport, it's a big heavy pig of a dual sport...

that also holds the record for the most preferred bike to be used for going around the world than any other motorcycle out there :big grin:

couldn't let you leave it at that

(They REALLY need to come out with a KLR1000 or 1200)

You sure about that? I'd have guessed a GS.

    yep.
GS's are used too but the KLR is preferred due to it's ease of maintenance and simplicity.
Shit just does not want to die but when it does, it doesn't take a BMW tech with a supercomputer and a van full of specialized parts to get it running again.

Although I would rock the shit out of a R1200GS. :big grin:

(but it will probably end up being a vstrom1000 instead)
