Okay, I'm starting an LLC to protect my ass and group up my websites.

I own the .NET and I want the .COM

It is up for sale on Sedo for $300 and the guy won't budge. In today's climate, do you guys who do this shit for a living think a .COM matters over a .NET in terms of company branding, name, domain, etc.?

people still think .com when they hear a website, it will be up to you if you go with .net to make them remember it

its not an impossible feat, but it will take work on your part

but if you are dead set on the name and want the .com, suck it up and buy it and just write it off as a business expense

$300 is cheap. get it before the guy decides to triple the price.

if youre actually going to make some money with your LLC, it won't matter that you spent $300

Dude it's $300, are you serious about running a business or do you just want to say you own a business???

and yes a .com matters ALOT. i own a .com where a bigger forum is the .net.... i suck all the good traffic and don't have to do a thing to get it.

If you were playing Monopoly, you had Park Place and someone offered to sell you Boardwalk, would you buy it? :o

Come on guys, this kid doesn't even have an AV. Clearly he can't spend the $300.

Ironically, my membership expired in the middle of this thread.:rofl::rofl:

Seriously though, this is new territory for me. I bought the domain anyway. It was more of a .NET vs .COM issue than a money issue.

LLC paperwork has been filed too. Do you know it's $500 LESS in state fees in Michigan vice Illinois? Mega savings if you have dual address'.

I'm ready to learn the ways of making money on the NET.

.net can work but whoever owns the .com of your name will always get free traffic because of your efforts.

is it a secret or do you mind telling us the name? $300 is cheap for a decent .com but of course that depends on what it is lol.
