Thinking of buying an AK but I don't know a good AK from a bad one. WMDers have any suggestions?

I have an Arsenal AK with a milled receiver. After having it and handling other AK's, I feel it's a good quality rifle.

From my limited knowledge based off of AK47.net...

Russians and Bulgarians make the best
Yugos and Polish are in the middle
    Romanian are lowest quality

Arsenal is definintely quality, but also very costly.

I would suggest browsing AK47.net a little and see what you find.

for quality either get an arsenal or get a kit + receiver etc and get a smith to build it.

neither have i. its just internet bashing from people like striker. all guns have their flaws, including ak's. yeah, its not finished very well( or at all in some cases) but they shoot just fine.

Im getting the WASR 2 romanian 5.45x39mm. Most people I know with them have never had one problem, and it will be a fun project to add all new furnature and a cheap scope etc. It will be tacticooled out by the years end :x:

I want a semi-auto 762x54 rifle. Thinking either the SVT-40 or the Romak III someday. Amazing prices on ammo right now

My cheaptastic WASR seems to have some feeding problems. Not sure if it's just some bum magazines or what (Promags and some cheesy 10-round mags have given me trouble).

I'm sort of lusting over those underfolders that AIM is selling, just not wanting to spend any money right now.
