Haha I just saw that, well I can say i just spent 300 bucks
Maybe I should start building my new system. This would be my first component
Supposed to be $266 on sunday
will be sold out immediately when it goes lower
No it's not, that's the retailer cost per 1,000.
It won't. Even if it did, as a result of Newegg's dynamic pricing, the surge of people buying it will put it above the $266 that it will never get to.
It will wind up at @275 pretty quick.
It will not be $266 definitely, but is expected to fall around $275.
Well, I got mine ordered, $12 seems like a small enough amount to not want to find out how well they will sell at $275.
Down to $273 @ Mwave http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA23383&RSKU=BA23383
Yeah, I'm thinking it's time to build a new toy based on one of these.
I pre-ordered mine somewhere else, guaranteed with the new G0 stepping.
Price will be $275 to $300 though and shipping is anywhere between july 23 to mid August, or worst september.
the one in newegg and most retailers is hit or miss, B3 or G0 stepping.
That one is B3
At the moment, I'm not all that concerned with G0. I have no intentions of OCing, and the power savings isn't that much...If when I go to order my new chip, the G0 is available and priced the same, I'll pick one up.
PCclub also has $299 shipped this Sunday for the Q6600.....
Starting to be a common thing.. We'll see $249 and lower by end of summer.
I'd wait the couple of days to get it from Newegg.
Newegg ship free, and Mwave charges extra.
Just ordered mine. Ships on Monday with another 2GB of ram.
Soo makes me want to build a new system... just cant bring myself to do it.
yea, too bad I pleged for my next system to be an apple
dont me. I would be running a PC and linux right now if it wern't that my fucking M-Audio FW 410 requires win or osx and M-Audio refuses to support linux.
Give me a high-quality working linux driver and I'll stick PC. Otherwise, I'm running to the dark side.
Dibs on your CM Stacker case. I cant seem to ever find one on sale.
I did the same
Is this the lowest it will go? And how does this Core 2 Duo work? I am upgrading my motherboard ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813157107 ) and prossesor because mine is getting really slow. (currently amd xp2000 1.6ghz). Do you guys think it will be worth it? Will I really notice the difference of upgrading to this 2.4ghz compared to my current 1.6 AMD? I don't play much games, mostly watch HD movies and when I play stuff higher then 720p it struggles. Also, for half the price, why wouldn't I get something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116048 (3.4ghz with hyper threading for half the price)?
Sorry for the questions, I haven't looking into compuer hardware in a good 6 years.
Also dumb question, if I get a new mobo/chip, do I need to reformat windows XP?
I have sensitive ears and I haven't found a "mainstream" sound card that doesn't sound like shit. I use it to power my Yamaha HS50M studio monitors and KRKRockit10 subwoofer.
Sounds infinitely better than the ricer sound-blaster/logitech combo people sackride.
