How benificial are push ups? I am working out 3 times a week now and am starting to see some improvement but also see a lot of people doing push ups.

What parts of the body do they work out and how many should I be doing per day?

push-ups are very beneficial..they workout your whole body. There are different types of pushups you can achieve depending how wide your arm stance is. It's also sexy.

    Sexy??? Pushup bras maybe.

And yes standard pushups are beneficial to a certain level. But just as pushups bras are more beneficial for women... so are pushups because of their usual lower upper body strength level.

These people you see could be doing it for a warm up before chest day... :dunno:

I enjoy plyo/explosive push ups every now and then...

i guess I am dumb, as is Mel Siff, Dietrich Buchenholz, Christian Thibadeu, and every other strength coach that advocates various plyo and absorption type pushups....
