I would have sent a PM but I figured this might benefit others as well.

Justin have you had any issues when washing with purple power with it staining trim or paint? I have use APCs before and degreasers and they have stained or bleached if you will trim and paint, especially on single stage paint.

How much do you mix in with your soap? I really need something to help with dirty lower body panels.

Can you just give us more information on how you use it, when you use it, and your dilution ratios?

    Thanks!

I've been adding a cup to 2 gallons of water with car wash for over a year now. I only do this on really BAD aka dirty vehicles. It has never caused any harm to the trim or glass. For wheels, tires, wells, and lower panels I use it cut 1:1. At 20.00 for 5 gallons and this mix makes me 10 gallons, it's the best deal there is out there. Interiors see it cut 4:1.......for carpets, mats, leather, and plastics. In the last year of use, I've never damaged a single thing and cannot be happier with any single product at my disposal.

Advanced Auto has it in gallons and five gallons.......five for 19.88.

Home Depot does not have it. The local Dollar Generals have it by the gallons too.

On the dilution ratio--- its water and then the product right?????

Thanks for asking that question Paulie. I've been wondering this too.

Walmart has it here. Its right next to the Castrol Degreaser. I like the CD but fuck does it smell and burn the skin. What is the PP like for smell and skin contact. Also if you get a chance will you snap a quick picture for me as I want to make sure we are talking about the same product.

No problem brother. I figured someone else might have the same question. We are all in it together might as well help each other. Thats the great part about most sub forums here, very helpful without all the offtopic replies.

I see you are new so feel free to ask anything here man, there are like 5 of us here that are really good at detailing and make money doing it and enjoy helping newbies.

    Cheers!

Yeah, I've been lurking here mostly for the last 6 months a post here and there. I do alot of reading over at the big "A" house. There's so many dilution ratios for so many degreasers for different surfaces, its hard to keep up with. I'm glad i'm not on a haz-mat team. I'd go nuts. Its so much more laid back here. I really like that.

honestly, finding the product you like best is the way to go. I personally use a degreaser from my local supply house. oh, and new car solvent and adhesive removers are almost all identical. find the most reasonably priced one and you should be fine.

also, I'd recommend finding a local detail supplier in your area. you can save decent money on products from them vs. ordering online. esp if you do this full time. i get dressings, degreaser, solvent, and window cleaner from mine. I'm about to start looking at their washes also, as meg's gold class is getting expensive.

edit: AIM is JRock10 (imagine that!)

Well I took a gallon bottle and made it 4:1 and sprayed it down then power washed at a quarter car wash. Turned out nice

At 4:1 on interior plastic and dash it also worked nice. On carpet, I did not care for it at all. It was not strong enough so I went back to my dedicated CGs carpet cleaner. You need a respirator to use it but it works nice!!

Will I buy again, yes I will. I liked it better than the Castrol Super Degreaser as it didnt take my breath away when I used it. The Castrol will get used up no doubt but Im not running out to get more once its out.

    Wow.......
Shineshop I really value your opinion on here. I had no idea about the contents of Purple Power. It just really works good and is a value in my business.

What degreaser/apc would you use for tires and wells then?
    Something concentrated.

    Thanks in advance.

FK1 has a nice decontamination wash also. I've used it before and it's pretty decent.

Ok that's all I've been using it for. I will add like a cup to 2.5 gallons to help wash though. I always wear rubber gloves now.......though the whole detail including polishing and waxing. My hands are already thanking me!!!

    Thanks guys!!
