I'm about to purchase two rifles from dealers out of state. I believe the process goes:

    1) purchase item from dealer
    2) contact FFL to send paperwork to dealer
    3) dealer sends purchased items to FFL
    4) complete DROS
    5) waiting period
    6) pick up items.

Please correct me if I have any steps out of sequence. Do I have to complete DROS once for each firearm from each dealer or can I just complete one from the FFL if I transfer the two firearms on one transaction?

BTW, I am a California resident if that affects anything (damn laws here.)

    Oh, I'm planning to purchase a Ferret50 and a Serbu BFG50. :eek3:

Well nevermind I can't help you, the only firearm I've bought out of state that was shipped is a NIB M15A2 from Armalite.

You buy a firearm from a PRIVATE owner in TN and no paperwork is needed, since no guns are registered.

i purchased both my handguns out of state. i did exactly what you wrote on that list except i didn't want to deal w/ faxing ffl licenses or what not, so whatever FFL license the dealer had in the bay area, i'd just go there to pick it up. 6 more days until i get my G23

You people in commiefornia still have to wait days before you can pick up the firearm?

They must do another background check or something - in TN they can do it in less than 5 mins on the phone or on a network computer.

the 10 days includes the "cool down" period i believe. Our state wants anxious californians to cool down before being able to pick up their firearm just in case they have the sudden urge/impulse to murder many people. They must be given the chance to change their minds

Better do it soon. You have till the first week of december before legally buying a .50 BMG rifle in California becomes impossible.

You had better get all the .50 ammo you can eat. That will surely be the next thing banned.

I just bought THIS last week from an out of state private party.

all I had to do is have teh dealer send the seller an ink-signed copy of their FFL license, and I sent the money. then they sent it to the dealer and I went there, did the nics check, filled out the 4473 and paid the $30 transfer fee and left with my AK.

I've bought other guns from out of state dealers and manufacturers too and its the same thing.

no idea how shit is done in kaliban tho
