A Ruger P90. It belonged to my brother who just recently purchased it and hadn't even shot it till today at the gun range. He gave me a wonderful deal of 100 dollars! Well a deal/present. :) The thing shoots great right out of the box and is a good fit for my hands. We also shot his new H&K USP 40 which is really nice but too much money for me. We only had time to fire off 50 rds or so before he had to get back to work though.
I was wondering about these scratches on the side though. My cousin was over my brother's house and checking out the gun and started acting like an idiot and playing gangta with it. Well he decided to stick it in his belt and now it has some nice pretty scratches on the side right below the slide. Is there anything I can do about those? Also is there anything I need to watch out for with this gun outside of the norm?

This is your first lesson, guns are not toys, if someone is going to do that then do not take your gun out while they are around. That is careless, stupid and could be dangerous.

Take it to your range and see if they can buff it out, but I wouldnt worry about it, its cosmetic and you will I am sure get more scratches on it.

This is EXACTLY how people get shot on accident. Tell your cousin he is an idiot and make sure you never allow him to touch a gun again until he can prove he has respect and understanding for guns. If you see anyone acting like that with a gun, either disarm him, or get the hell out of there.

Rule #1. All guns are loaded!!! even if you have just cleared the chamber and dropped the magazine. As soon as you let that slide lock into battery, there is now a magic bullet in that barrel and that gun is ready to shoot.

As for the Ruger, great gun and that was a killer price. :bigthumb:
It's reliable and tough. Just keep it clean and lubed and it will last longer than you will.

I wasn't there during the incident. Don't worry, I don't feel like getting shot or being around when someone is. It's also a cousin I have no contact with.

I also gave it a cleaning today with "Gunk-Out" on the gun store owner's recommendation. Seemed to work pretty well but I picked up the standard cleaning kit also. Gave it a little lube job too. :naughty:

and the Glock 7 as the close tolerances of the porcelain slide can jam easily due to fouling.
