When doing pullups, how does the hand posistion effect it? Palms away, palms toward (under), and then there are little bars that come towards you where your palms are facing eachother. What are the benefits of each way? I notice i can do alot less when my palms are facing away.

Also when working out lateral deltoid, is it better to do an upright row, or lateral raise?

I would say from a physiological standpoint that using palms toward you and towards center, you use your chest and posterior delts to make up for week lats. If you think about it, your elbows are in front of you in these grips, while they are beside you when palms face out.

laterial raises are better than up right rows for medial head.
