Pulling from a platform

    Whats the consensus on pulling from a 4in. platform? What does that work, does it make it harder? I'd imagine it would considering you're moving the weight a greater distance combined with greater leg drive.


    Next DL day I'm yankin' from one of those.

    It increases power off the floor. As to what it hits harder I never really paid attention because the goal for me was to get stronger not cause hypertrophy.

    i think it'll help pretty much anyone's deadlift. Deficit pulls are a muhfucka

    I unfortunately never saw a carry over. I did them for a month when my DL flat lined and I got nothing out of them. :(

    If you are primarily a stiff legged deadlifter or you are already fast off the floor pulling from a platform won't do as much IMO. Still a good variation.

    Wouldn't switching to a snatch grip give similar carry over?

    My whole body gets rocked from snatch-grip deadlifts.
    It's a great feeling the day after.
    Traps feel yoked after as well

    I believe a wider grip than conventional DL.
