Pulled neck muscle, how long should I wait?

    I pulled a neck muscle on the right side doing shrugs last Wednesday, hurt like a bitch for a few days, it's not too bad now though. I can still feel a bit of discomfort there from time to time, a bit worse in the mornings. Anyway, I was wondering how long should I wait before getting back into lifting? I obviously don't want to wait too long. Just wait till it stops hurting or...? :hs:

    this happens to me sometimes. i usually take a motrin or 2 and rest for the rest of the week if its really bad

    Make sure you tuck your chin when shrugging. I have a lot of neck problems around the c7 area and often pull traps/etc when doing heavy pulling/shrugging. Tucking the chin has helped me a lot.

    I typically wait a few days before getting back into it.

    I usually just work around it.
    Definitely wouldn't stop lifting altogether.
