Do any of you guys or gals hug or hold hands, kiss or whatever your SO while out in public? Is the display of "gay" public affection common (for those of you who live) in Gay Bay and other queer cities? I see young breeder couples every day who shove tongues down each other's throat and essentially fondle in public but God forbid if a gay couple does that!

I dont exactly have a life partner yet. I had a girlfriend but we broke up. Lookin for a boyfriend right now. (I have a guy who adores me. But the problem is he lives in Europe :() I havent told many people (Save for 1 close friend and the european guy I like) so I doubt that Id do anything with him in public.

In your situation, what would you do if your European man wanted to do PDA? Would you reject him?

Im not sure actually. I probobly would. or at least tell him to wait till we got a bit of private time. But seriusley he is very shy. So the chances of him asking me to do PDA are slim to none :).

I hold hands and occasionally kiss on the cheek and such. but i'm not big into public display's of affection regardless gay or straight. holding hands and small kisses is one thing, making out in public NEVER it's so rude to me

That is 1 thing that I could live with. Holding hands. I could posisbly kiss on cheek.

Maybe it's just me, but I think most public displays of affection are in poor taste. I mean holding hands is one thing, but when I see a couple, straight or gay, making out in plain view of everybody, I just feel like telling them to get a fricken room.

me and my boy hold hands but usually after a while it becomes too much effort and we just walk along side by side.

A kiss on the cheek, or a peck on the cheek is as far as we go in public. Unless of course I am drunk and then I usually go too far :)

First let me start by saying that I'm not into making out in public just to make out in public... But, if my mate says something romantic, or if I'm so moved to kiss him, then I'm gonna kiss him.

I know what you all are saying about overt displays of sexuality--gay, str8t, or otherwise. But I'm doing what moves me. I have a habit of not really caring what those around me think. My friends tend to be more socially conscientious. We were walking in Blockbuster, and up until we entered were discussing the sex scenes in Queer as Folk, and they got silent when they walked in... I continue what the fuck I was saying. Yes, the two males behind the counter were very obviously str8t... But I refused to be silenced, even if only by way of social pressure.

Likewise, I was holding hands with this guy in the mall, and we sat next to each other in the food court. This lady in the next table started getting all testy and started telling her kids how we were "un-Godly". I just looked at her, raising an arched eyebrow in warning, and she turned away. Time passes, and I end up giving the guy a quick kiss...no tongue. She clears her throat, and asks if we can not "parade" our "lifestyle choices" in front of her family. I quickly responded, "did I say anything about you showcasing your wedding ring, or parading those kids in front of me? Both are overt demonstrations of your 'lifestyle choices', but you don't see me getting all offended." She just didn't know how to respond, as her jaw dropped. Never one to pass up a great opportunity, I commented, "is that an invitation to for me to convert? I won’t stick IT in, but my friend here might...." She collected her children, and stormed off.

Her kids started laughing…and that’s when I felt a lil bad. :o But, I got over it.

Come on coma, you're half serbian and you know what Yugoslavia was like, or at least your parents do. If you want to eliminate public affection, privatize the public force. That way, only those who bought estate will be able to control what goes on the streets.

Exactly, Gays, Lesbians and Bisexuals were never liked in Yugoslavia. MY dad and mom are completley anti gay. Dunno if ill ever be able to tell them.

It takes time but they'll get over it when you decide to tell them.

I made a promise to myself that they'd be the first people I would tell. Because they've been there for me, I couldn't tell just anybody. :hs: It was a respect issue for me.

It was difficult but oh well, everything is fine.

Of course it's good to do when you don't have much else going on in your life as well, it can create quite a ripple. :ugh:
