Just posted this in Offtopic, and didn't get a response...

My computer sounds like a jet engine when it is turned on. I disconnected all of the fans, except for the power supply fan. I've determined that the loudness is due to the power supply fan being worn out. Can I just cut the power cables to the PSU fan and use other case fans for cooling, or will this cause the PSU to over heat?

    Thanks.

It will probably overheat. They're easy enough to change out, a fan shouldn't be any more than about $15 for a fancy quiet fan.
