I've been taking 30mg from my sinutab because of allergies... just curious how do the dosages compare to ephedrine?

Different alkaloids, work on slightly different receptors. Generally it's weaker and has more bronchodilating effects than CNS stimulating.

    Found this....

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=7140799&dopt=Abstract

Does this mean ephedrine is more effective as a bronchodilator? Or am I (likely) misunderstanding?

You read it right. On a mg to mg basis ephedrine is much stronger in all aspects I guess, but for purely bronchodilating effects I'd rather large dose pseudoephedrine. I didn't know pseudoephedrine was THAT much weaker though, nice find.
