Went to the range yesterday to shoot the Sig and XD. Piece of 40sw brass
bounced off the wall, dropped through the tiny gap between my "safety" glasses
and my brow and lodged itself in the corner of my eye. After some flailing
about with a loaded gun in my hand I eventaully got my glasses off.

Now I have a painful blister that hurts like hell :(

Need better saftey glasses, I use oakleys no room really for brass to fit between them and you face. Usually wear my boonie hat too to try to deflect any coming from above from going down my shirt.

At work (canadian reservist) on my SQ course we were doing a defensive field exercise and the first (blank) round I fired ejected right onto the lips of my trench partner. She had a big ass .223 casing shaped blister on her kisser for the remainder of the course.

    lol

i had something similar. I had two pieces land inside my shirt collar and burn the hell out of my neck once. Still have a slight scar that shows up

started yelling and cussing at the range and my buddy was like "WTF??" and i had to untuck my shirt to drop the two casings out.

I actually have 2 blisters...one on the top of my eyelid and the other on my
cheek near the corner of my eye....when it landed my slammed my eye shut
which just locked onto the brass....

oh well....next time i'll make sure I have my hat.

No, the Velcro top is only there to cover where the button was removed. The button was removed to make it not hurt when you get hit on top of it, or wear ears over your hat. DRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Last time I was at the range without a hat, I was in a firing line with some dressed out LEs. Thought I'd be tacticool and throw on a tact vest. Well, a lack of hat led to a nice richocet from some brass off my forehead and into the well placed gap between my tshirt and tact vest.

I pranced around like a teenage girl to the Backstreet Boys.

 I've learned my lesson with brass down the shirt, when I goto the range now I always try to wear something loose fitting and not tucked in.
