I have been running the PS3 media server on 2 different computers with no problems up until recently.

The last 2 videos I have tried to watch in HD have both run fine and then started going crazy. I've lost audio for small segments in movies, it has frozen all together, and last night it kept pausing the show and/or backing all the way out to the main PS3 screen where you select what you want to watch.

Has anyone encountered anything like this before? If so what did you do to correct it.

My current computer is running a quad core possessor and streaming HD media has never been an issue before. This is also running over a wired connection.

Are you downloading porn while trying to stream at the same time?

No utorrent was off and the computer wasn't doing anything other than trying to stream.

The two files it has happened on are .mkv and .avi

After a few rounds of it pausing and/or backing out it will then show a "file corrupt" message, but when you click on it again it will restart playback and then the cycle or errors.

I check both files on my computer and both played through fine without any problems.

I've only tried playing one mkv file on my ps3 but the same shit happened with me. The first ten seconds of the movie started out fine and then it started skipping, freezing, glitching, etc. and was unplayable.

I had to assign a port to my PS3 due to some connectivity issues with it. Is there also a place to assign the same port via PS3 MS? Could that be the issue?

why dont you copy your files to the PS3? im not sure exactly what your encountering but i downloaded this one file and it started lagging and the sound was cutting off when i was streaming. i figured it was because i was downloading on the laptop so i copied the file to the ps3 and it worked fine.

I had something similar happen where the files wouldn't show up for 3-4 minutes when browsing the directory. Playing the files was about as bad. Slow loading, skipping, etc. I wound up uninstalling and reinstalling the PS3MS and haven't had any trouble since.
