I never heard of the battery insided the controller going out? I had my controller for 2 years and no problems? Is this a hit peice? Or a real problem?

The controller that originally game with my PS3 can no longer work wireless. it has to be plug'ed in to work, (one of the original sixaxis, non dual shock)

but that is the one I use when I know I will eventually get pissed at the game, or is the one I let my 4 year old use.

I read some of the comments underneath that article. Someone said it cost $8 to replace the battery in the Sony Controller and its a easy replace, :dunno:

All three of my controllers (two from launch, one dual shock 3 from when that came out) still work.

Doesn't sony have a guide to open the controller? They are doing nothing wrong here. Cheaper for them, cheap replacement for the customer.

i got an extra one of those batteries lying around after my dog, and by dog I mean myself, destroyed one in a fit of rage. Figured it would come in handy one day when my other battery cells die out.

I had a sixaxis malfunction, but not die. Everytime I pushed the right analog towards the center, the game would pause. Called Sony, sent it to them, they sent me back a brand new DS3 still in the packaging

    Yahoo:

Don't get a PS3 because the battery in the controller MIGHT die in 3 years.

Related products: 50 pack Duracell batteries for $87. Make sure your 360 controller never goes out!
