Im wondering for those of you that mix your protein shakes in a blender with fruits or maybe Peanut Butter etc......

Are there any tricks for cleaning up your blender...Sounds stupid but its a pain in the ass!!!

Maybe I am just lazy but I just mix mine with a spoon in a glass and dont add any EXTRAS to it since its such a pain.

see if the bottom piece of the glass (the base, with the blades attached to it) screws out. helps a to clean that separately

they make small blenders too (like those mini hand blenders, literally the size of a 16 oz cup)... those are super easy to clean/deal with.

theres tons of manufacturers that make em for decent prices too.

Dump the drink into a cup and rinse it out in the sink with that little extension hose thing. Always worked for me :dunno:

I make my shake in the AM, fill the blender with hot water and let it sit till I get home.

A blender is like a good cast iron skillet - you should never wash it; all of the years of accumulated grease and detritus add layer upon layer of character to a good blender. I got mine as a gift for my bris and haven't washed it in 27 years.

i've had this problem a long time ago. it usually stinks up. i just rinse and scrub the walls on each side every time and then put water in it and blend it 3 times until the water is clear. Then rinse it a couple times and then put the blender upside down so the water doesn't collect and stink up.

    I have one of these:

I've made thousands of protein shakes on the first and only one I've bought. The lid is a one-piece blender contraption. All I need to do is rinse it right away, and clean it more thoroughly every once in a while.
