Just curious, would it be ok if I mixed a powder fiber like benefiber in with my protein shake in the morning or could this be counter productive?

only time it may even be a slight factor would be after a workout when you want to get that protein in you as fast as possible...fiber can slow gastric emptying.

    In the morning, its fine.

if it makes me feel fuller in the morning it may not be such a bad idea. I eat at like 3:50 in the morning and next time i'm able to actually eat something aside from a granola bar is like 1:00 in the afternoon.

I mix some fiber in the morning shake. Since I'm drinking about 3-4 shakes a day, adding the fiber really helps me push out some solid logs instead of pissing out of my ass. Helps with the hemms for guys with that problem as well. :o

I've been mixing it into my water for quite a while. And I'm glad I did.
If you're drinking enough water then it shouldn't be too hard to throw a scoop into the odd bottle of water. I believe benefiber is wheat dexrin fiber, and metamucil simply clear is psyllium fiber. I personally take the metamucil.
    Dooooo It!

Well you should be getting good amounts of both.
Fiber can be classified into two types: soluble (dissolves in water and may form a gel) and insoluble (does not dissolve in water). Soluble fiber can help to lower cholesterol and regulate glucose levels as well as regularity. Examples of soluble fiber include oats, many fruits and vegetables, beans, barley, and psyllium. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to the stool and contributes to bowel regularity. Examples are whole-wheat flour, wheat bran and some vegetables. Virtually all plant foods contain soluble and insoluble fiber.

Never tried Benefiber, so I can't comment.
