is it a good thing to start off the day with protein (44 g's with milk or oj)
and end the day with protein (22g's or 44 g's with water right before bed)?

I heard that if you don't eat w/in 2 hours of going to sleep and slam a protein shake right before bed, it's good for you

    true/false?

I put mine in milk post-workout as well, since I like to mix it a tbsp of Udo's Oil blend with 1/2 banana. The banana hides the nasty taste of the oil. I think it's good to get the essential fats in post-workout.

And I typically workout late in the evening.

wouldnt it just make more sense to put the oil all down at once rather than mixing with a large concentration of water?

pour a little water in the back of ur throat (hold it there), dump oil in, swallow

:hsugh: sure. and you meant milk when you said water, right?

that shit will make you gag if you don't hide the taste with something.

hell, i might give that a shot, though.

just don't hit your tounge. I am the master at disguising oil taste, you wont even taste it if you do it properly

hmm ... i must need more practice then. it's tricky with the udo's, since it seems really viscous. I tried just downing it straight once and i nearly gagged.

I don't taste the flax seed oil when I mix it with my musclemilk, water and egg whites. And I used to use 2-3 tbspn per sahke.

Most amount of oil I have used in a shake was 4 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp flaxseed oil...could hardly even taste the oil over the dextrose and whey protein, but flax and olive oil really is'nt very strong tasting

Ironically, even with all the oil it was still only a 1000 cal shake

Flax is an omega-3 fat. Flaxseed oil is'nt too great after studies have shown that as little as 0.2% gets converted to EPA/DHA which is what you really need from omega-3's. Try eating salmon instead..fish oil pills are ok but can easily become rancid.

Olive oil is high in mono-unsaturated fats (oleic acid) which has tons of health benefits but from a body structure standpoint.. Myelin, the communciating neuron is 80% fat and 20% protein with most of the fat being Oleic acid...which maybe why fats are said to have an effect on intelligence.
