There doesn't seem to be hidden folders on a mac, and I would like to either password protect or hide some folders within my hard drive without having to bury it within my library. Is there a program I can download to do this?

To hide folders from view I use a little program called HideAndSeek. It doesn't do any encrypting, just hides a folder from view. But contents within that folder will still come up in 'Find'.

I found it in Apple's software downloads.

    Do you share your computer?

If there are multiple accounts, then other users can't go into your Music/Photos/Videos folder. Just throw everything in there.
