this is for their website, no strobes, 5 exposures blended, and painted with flashlight a little.

Pelfed, light looks awful and I see you in the mirror. Looks like a nice place though.

I think the light looks fine. Must be the difference in monitors. Looks really sharp too. But some is pelfed for sure.

the objects in the foreground for #2 are distracting. i can't take my eyes away from the garbage can and that just leads me around to the clutter behind the bar counter. few people will ever see from this angle, and if the architect/interior designer was paying attention he/she probably didn't design the room with this view in mind and wouldn't want anyone to experience the place from that position. i'd leave that one out.

what's your WB set at? it looks too orange.

i would have cleaned up the place a little ... removed some objects (like the trash can in pic 2, put something with a black background on the plasma tv, etc).

my monitor is calibrated, and all of the pics are exceptionally dark. :dunno:

the place is orange and red :( thanks for the reply all. Cant open the curtins because all the shots were 30s or more and the casino lights would have killed the shot, as well as people walkign around.

i would have taken all the shots at night, the shots you took during the day with the curtains closed are kinda blown and distracting.

Also, I'd agree with the WB issues. You're probably going to need a grey card to make it perfect. A preset wont cut it (or it'd be more difficult anyway)

oh i dont doubt that... but it looks like shit and your job as a photographer is to represent that place in the most favorable light possible, not represent it as what it is... if you want to do that, get into journalism.

I'd say play with the WB regardless, until it becomes pleasing to the eye.

i'd forget the wide open shots and just shoot the room to make it look good. forget trying to give an accurate representation of how big it is and stuff. sell the place, work with what you got. of course nothing is gonna be perfect, lighting won't always be great, but that's your job to figure it out.

my opinion is that the shots look nice if you are trying to sell the place. but i don't think you are shooting for a realtor so just try to make it seem like a cool trendy place to hang out. more close up shots of the bar, tables and stuff would give a more positive feeling about the atmosphere

The photographers job IS to lie. That's what we do. That shot was set-up, right? I see a tripod, so I assume so. You're lying just by doing that.

and who wants to see behind the counter? Nobody. Shoot from the other side of the room towards the windows maybe? Shoot it at night if light from the windows is a problem.
