just a little show and tell with this one.

I'm not at the point where i can confidently write my own php scripts/apps, but ive been making a habit to start projects where ill either combine 2 php scripts/apps and make a decent site out of, or just modify the shit out of a free script and make it custom.

this both helps me practice my understanding of php and makes a little adsense money on the side.

with this project, its been a few months in the making (on and off messing with it), but im pretty satisfied how it turned out.

the site http://steamprofile.com , uses a script to grab info for steam users (http://steampowered.com) and displays their online status + avatar. I used this with wordpress to make a nice little hacking project.

I'd look into caching the images for maybe 24hours time to reduce the server load if a lot of people start using these.

    Good stuff!

Plus you worked with wordpress, which I have found is great to build upon when you know PHP.

Disagree. WordPress makes amazing UI, but the PHP and implementation is pretty awful.
