I was just curious on how everyone begins working on a project. It can be a web application, process, program, but it doesn't matter.

I know a lot of people where they just jump in and start building, and I know some people just go through write out everything they plan on doing and try to work off some type of Software Development Lifecycle.

for large projects if you dont design first, you're just wasting your own time. learn how to write SDC's or pseudocode, drawing what the GUI etc will look like also helps.

I always sit down and draw out everything I'm going to want/need, regardless of project size.

I think, then I do. I try not to waste time with pseudocode or flow charts because all of that is in my head. If you can't remember what you're going to do, that's a pretty big problem.
