Backround i got the car in 2003 i was 15, i did chinese delivery for the summer of 05 but i drove her hard and eventually the engine blew so from October 05 to November of 07 it was sitting there until the City had problems with it being there with no tags i hid it at a friends house for a year until Friday but now i'm gunna drop a used 16valve into it, basically i just want to hear it run again, no racing, no speeding, just drive like a normal human being.

i didn't put the stripe on there it came like that, it's funny when i 1ts saw a red corolla i thought "i'd never get one" but in person it was godly, the thing i love about it, is that it's so under powered that on the back roads your flooring it into every turn, but my cousins rx7 you can't even reach 5th gear

    Well its not the looks.

Cheap, RWD car with potential. The stock motor was high revving, and in a light car that was a lot of fun.

With a 20v or any other motor, it's tits.

its more a infamous thing these days. The amount of prices these things get is ridiculous

a S13 is arguably just as capable as a drift pig.

that hachi is hot! I love the small underpowered cars, they're so fun to drive. I used to love driving my rx7 (FC), but i had to give it away (family needs). I would step on it through turns, and as of yet, it's the only car that i've felt comfortable drifting. Not even my FD has given me drifting comfort yet, and I feel better when it's gripping the turns, even when it slightly loses traction.

i'm in the process of saving up to finally start fixing up my beater FD, so hopefully i'll post pics of that some day.... some day.

Everyone assumes if you buy an import like this you are into drifting. I guess it's the same for domestic guys who buy a big V8 car and everyone assumes you are into drag racing?

I'd love to have one, but I wouldn't drift it. I think it would be more fun to auto-x it. I just daily drive my MR2 and it's a great car, quick revving little 4AGE, light steering, etc. The AE86 with another 4A under the hood would be a great car for both daily and track use.

there are better cars out there, but its a good platform for a lightweight rwd car. unfortunately, its value nowadays is probably greater than when it was new. Auto-x, or drift its a good car. its reliable, and has ok power at best. I wouldn't take a stock one to a track day though haha.

mine is completely stock and i auto-x it when i did have an engine in it. but i enjoyed speeding on a backroad much better. i 1st wanted one because of the anime initial D then i when i actually got the car i stopped watching the anime and it was the car itself that i enjoyed but i abused it. :wtc: but now i just wanna hear the engine again, i wanna drive it just to have it, i know a couple of ppl around here with them and i just wanna have a "4age meet" in a way, no showing off or anything cause if you got a car you like driving, take care of it, it sucks that i learned that the hard way...

I first started looking into the small JP cars when I watched that anime, but I hated that a lot of the cars got really trendy. I was just looking into a car that was fun to drive and a little more unique, so I decided to get an 87 Rx7. Since then, I just love rotary cars, and I basically like the car because of the car itself, and not due to the anime.

If anything, this anime was able to get me into JP cars.

Ae86's are cool till you have to do the work. They are fun to drive but only when modded, otherwise they drag ass. Hope you got a pile of money to throw at it. If you just want to beat around in it, do yourself a favor. Sell it to some stupid rice kid who thinks is going to be a drifter and make some profit. With a clean body those things go for rediculous prices.

You should put one of these in:

So that I can track you down, kill you, then steal the engine.
