Has anyone had problems running a progressive scan DVD player with a HDTV? I have a Pioneer DV-656A running to a Samsung HDTV, and it doesn't seem to be compatible. Either I get no picture at all or the picture that shows is grainy and still non-progressive, after connecting from S-Video to component. The Pioneer DVD manual says that not all HDTV's are compatible with the player. I'm thinking this is why. And of coarse the customer support number for Pioneer is disconnected. How convenient!

Its much cheaper and easier to replace the DVD than the TV.

to get a progressive signal you need to use the component video cables which is the 3 video cables red green and blue
